Children Cancer Center of Lebanon If I was to give a charity donation it would definitely be to CCCL (Children Cancer Center of Lebanon) Cancer is a malignant and life threatening disease. Nowadays cancer is spreading more and more and we see more cases of children suffering from it. Cancer has no logical explainable cause and it could attack any of us anytime. The Children's Cancer Center of Lebanon (CCCL) is a not-for-profit association for the treatment of children with cancer. CCCL works in close coordination with the American University of Beirut Medical Center (AUBMC). Children at CCCL are treated free of charge, with no cost at all on their parents. Therefore, CCCL relies purely on donations. Children at the CCCL are admitted regardless of race, sex, ethnicity, religion or nationality. Since April 2002, the CCCL treated, to date, more than 1200 children with cancer; from Lebanon and the Region. Cure rate for patients at CCCL is an amazing 80%; which means that it is providing hope and a healthy future for sick children In addition to this, a Child life department at the Children’s Cancer Center of Lebanon (CCCL) is created to help children and their families navigate the emotionally and physically challenging process of coping with cancer. This department provide support during medical procedures. It helps children develop strategies such as imagery, distraction and relaxation to reduce anxiety (example: Play rooms, art therapy, storytelling, clowning program, visits from community groups and celebrities.). It also provides school teachers who are professional experienced teachers with certified degrees in different aspects of education. They coordinate with each child's school to ensure class requirements are met while the child is in the hospital. Therefore, in my opinion CCCL is an association that is worth every penny of donation given since it is giving a sparkle of hope for every child suffering from cancer.
